What mild postnatal exercises can I do?
Nov 21, 2024Squeeze in a little mild exercise — at least 10 minutes every day — working up to the ideal minimum of say half-an-hour of vigorous exercise 4–5 times a week. For now, dance to a few of your favourite songs (or your baby’s favourites); or do some slow stretching; or work-out at home to an exercise DVD or download. Or try to get to a few classes a week that include guided-relaxation, meditation-type techniques, such as yoga, tai chi or pilates — or go for a swim or a jog. And, no, your three-month-old baby is not too young to be in a gym crèche for 1–2 hours. Get some exercise-induced endorphins (happy chemicals) back into your famished system.
